In a disturbing instance of technology being misused, a third-year student of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Raipur, has been expelled for allegedly using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to morph photos of his female classmates into obscene visuals. The shocking case has sparked outrage on campus and raised concerns over the growing misuse of AI-generated imagery.

The incident came to light on October 6, when a few girl students approached faculty members with verbal complaints, suspecting that their images had been digitally manipulated. The institute immediately set up a fact-finding committee headed by a female professor to investigate the matter.
