As of Wednesday, Jerry had sustained winds of 65 mph and was moving quickly westward across the central tropical Atlantic at 20 mph. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), the storm is expected to intensify over the coming days and could become a hurricane by late this week or the weekend.

The latest forecast shows Jerry potentially reaching wind speeds of 90 mph as it nears the Leeward Islands Thursday night into Friday (Oct. 9–10). While the storm’s exact path remains uncertain, residents in the islands are urged to closely monitor updates as the center of the storm may pass nearby.
