NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - After nearly five months on the run, four-time convicted killer Derrick Groves is back in police custody after he and nine other inmates broke out of the Orleans Parish jail .

He was arrested on Wednesday (Oct. 8) in southwest Atlanta.

While most of the inmates were caught in the immediate weeks following the jailbreak, Groves remained the only fugitive at large until investigators tracked him to a house in Atlanta.

“It just signifies cooperation and that you might get tired but we’re not,” Louisiana State Police Superintendent Col. Robert Hodges said.

Hodges is one of several leaders on a multi-agency task force formed to locate all of the missing inmates.
