After more than two years of construction, the Diverging Diamond Interchange project in Howland Township is coming to an end.

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 4 spokesperson Justin Chesnic tells 21 News the diverging diamond is set to open Friday, October 10. However, Chesnic said there is no specific time frame in the day for the opening.

Chesnic said the opening won't happen first thing in the morning, but it is expected to happen sometime on Friday. A formal announcement will be made whenever the diamond is officially opened.

Construction for the Diverging Diamond Interchange project kicked off in the fall of 2023 and was expected to last until 2026.
