ROCK ISLAND CO., Ill. (KWQC) - Looking to safely dispose of chemicals, paint, and batteries?
The Rock Island County Waste Management Agency and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency are hosting a household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday, according to the RICWMA website.
The event is open to anyone who lives in Illinois, but you are asked to sign up for a drop-off time, officials said.
They will take:
Oil-based paints
Paint thinners
Aerosol paint
Cleaning products
Insecticides
Herbicides
Pesticides
Mercury
Gasoline
Anti-freeze
Used motor oil
Fluorescent light bulbs
Household batteries
They won’t take:
Tires
Electronics
Appliances
Latex paint
Business and commercial waste
Controlled substances
Agricultural chemicals or farm oil
Explosives or fire
