MOLINE, Illinois (KWQC) - Hundreds attended the grand opening of the new ALDI grocery store in Moline on Thursday.
The new store is located in the former Hy-Vee building off of John Deere Road, located at 710 42nd Avenue Drive.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 8 a.m. and shoppers were able to enter the store immediately after.
The first 100 people inside the store received a gift bag filled with ALDI exclusive products and a “golden ticket” gift card worth up to $100.
People began lining up outside of the store hours before it opened, the first person in line said they arrived at 4 a.m.
Shoppers can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card through Sunday.
The store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
