Kosta Diamantis, a former state deputy budget director, is accused of demanding bribes from construction firms in exchange for state contracts.

During the third day of the trial , two witness testified that Diamantis wielded his power to benefit two contractors in exchange for kickbacks.

Diamantis’ defense attorney, Norm Pattis, said his client intends to testify. That would not happen until next week at the earliest.

On Thursday, prosecutors plan to start the day by questioning Tolland Superintendent Walter Willett.
