Charbria Shine believes she is right where she needs to be, and that’s showing others through the arts that something you love doing “can be just so transformational for your life.”
The actress, playwright, director and author is pouring her energy into the arts and the community, with her next show, "Dr. Love the Stage Play,” building on her focus of empowering women and her desire to revitalize the arts in the Region with a permanent space.
Shine was never not performing as a child. Her teachers at the former John H. Vohr Elementary School in Gary were “dedicated to pulling out the best in us,” encouraging her to dance, cheer and choreograph. Shine decided later in eighth grade that she wanted to explore acting.
