New Delhi: Attending the News9 Global Summit in Germany, Dr Arvind Virmani, a Member of NITI Aayog, on Thursday talked about two trends which are shaping the global economy and inter-relationship between them. One is, country concentration of manufacturing which has increased in the last 25 years, which has led to near monopoly of manufactured goods, including rare earth metals with economic and geopolitical risks.
Global demographic changes in the last 25 years coupled with those projected over the next 25 years will reorder the global comparative advantage in ways that are not fully appreciated by developed countries, including EU and Germany, he said at the event.
