New Delhi: Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has opened up on his retirement from international cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL), which raised questions on the timing and manner of the decision. The Indian icon has put all the speculations and reports to bed by clarifying that his decision to retire from the game was a personal call and “no one forced” him to retire midway through the Test tour of Australia last year.
Ashwin, 39, sent shockwaves across the cricket fraternity by quitting after the third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Brisbane last year.
