Nutanbazar bypass turns into death trap amid administrative apathy

Agartala, 9 th October 2025 : The Nutanbazar Bypass Road has deteriorated into a virtual waterlogged death trap, sparking widespread concern among commuters and local residents. Deep potholes and craters have formed across the stretch, causing frequent vehicle breakdowns and severe disruptions, especially for goods carriers and smaller vehicles.

Locals blame the administrative indifference for the worsening condition of the road. Ever since the responsibility for its construction shifted from the state’s Public Works Department to the central government’s National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the situation has gone from bad to worse.
