CLEVELAND — It’s Thursday and that means it's Drought Monitor Day! The new map came out this morning. We’ve been watching these updates closely since August because dry conditions have been causing drought to expand for much of the state of Ohio.

The latest update shows just a bit of change for our viewing area. Moderate drought expanded into northern Ashtabula County. There was a little bit of expansion of severe drought for northern Huron County and western Lorain County.

Extreme drought also started creeping in for the border of Erie and Huron counties. Western Ohio had a bigger expansion of drought conditions overall.
