A bedroom was completely destroyed in a devastating fire started by a vape .

Firefighters were called to a property in Aldwick, West Sussex, at 10:41 a.m. on October 2 to reports of a blaze.

They worked quickly to put out the fire but could not save the bedroom - with pictures showing the damage caused.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said a vape was found in the room which is believed to have been the cause of ignition.

Duncan Warwood, watch commander, has now issued a warning about vapes and e-cigarettes .

He said: “Rechargeable devices such as e-cigarettes and vapes contain lithium-ion batteries which can start a fire.
