: The Regional Committee for West Jaintia Hills district has been tasked with visiting Lapangap village following a deadly clash between Karbi and Pnar villagers that resulted in one fatality.

After a meeting held on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home Prestone Tynsong informed that he had suggested to the deputy chief minister and chairman of the regional committee for West Jaintia Hills Sniawbhalang Dhar to conduct a joint visit to Lapangap village and appeal to the people from both sides to maintain status quo pending the solution to the long pending border dispute between the two states.
