EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita’s petition against Berry Global (now Amcor) and The Haitian Center of Evansville has been denied by Vanderburgh County’s Superior Court.

The petition sought “CIDs” or “civil investigative demands,” for which Judge Pigman has ruled the Attorney General does not have the authority to ask for.

Haitian Center officials say the petition was an attempt to find unlawful labor trafficking activity.

They say it was despite any evidence of complaints against them or wrongdoing.
