KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Lawrence, Kansas, middle school is on lockdown Thursday due to a social media threat, police said.
"Officers are at Billy Mills Middle School after a report of a concerning social media post involving a weapon," the Lawrence Police Department said on Facebook.
The police department said it has not found anything of concern in its initial search. Police said the school remains on lockdown while officers conduct a more thorough search – and investigate the origins of the original social media threat.
