CONWAY, Mass. (WWLP) - The Conway Police Department has issued a warning about a scam involving Eversource, where con artists are impersonating the utility company to switch customers' accounts to Direct Energy.

Police say that the scheme involves a caller claiming to be from Eversource, using a Boston number linked to Harbor Electric Energy Company, to deceive residents into switching their energy supplier.

Olessa Stepanova, Manager of External Communications at Eversource, told 22News that the company does not solicit door-to-door or over the phone on behalf of third-party energy suppliers.
