ATLANTA — A state agency is warning some people that their personal information may have been exposed after an email breach.
Out of precaution, the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is alerting those who may have been impacted after unauthorized access to certain employee email accounts, though officials say there's no evidence the data has been misused.
According to DHS, an investigation revealed that confidential information, such as the following, were contained within impacted email accounts: driver's license and/or state identification number, medical or treatment information, Social Security number, system access information, date of birth, Medicare and/or Medicaid identification number, health insurance information, billing information, passport and immigration numbers.
