ATLANTA — The plan to knock down a famous Atlanta strip club for a student housing tower is making progress.

Core Spaces, a Chicago-based developer, recently filed a permit application with the city, revealing more details on the residential tower it expects to build in place of the Cheetah Lounge in Midtown. The proposal will go before the Midtown Development Review Committee on Oct. 14.

The project is being developed in tandem with Birmingham-based Capstone Communities, according to an August news release.
