LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI - A 22-year-old has life-threatening injuries after their car was hit by a semitrailer in a crash that shut down I-96 near Howell.
The driver of a semitrailer rear-ended two vehicles around 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 while driving west on I-96 near Pickney Road in Marion Township, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Police believe the driver did not stop in time for stalled traffic.
The semitrailer then continued west, crashing into another semitrailer. That vehicle then rear-ended two more vehicles.
A 22-year-old driver of a car hit by the second semitrailer was taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the original semitrailer, a 58-year-old man from Wisconsin, was taken by Life Flight to the University o
