(WKBN) - The government shutdown entered its ninth day Thursday, with both parties blaming each other for the impasse.

President Trump has threatened to mass fire federal workers and not give back pay to those who remain.

Democrats continue to demand an extension to health care subsidies that are set to expire at the end of the year.

The IRS has furloughed nearly half of the agency's employees.

The Senate continues to take votes, but it can not get enough support to fully reopen the government.
