TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- ZooTampa staff have welcomed two baby Komodo dragons to the world!

Photos and videos shared by the zoo show the pair - a brother and sister - exploring their new environment.

The hatchlings are about 10 inches long and are about the same weight as a stick of butter. As the largest lizard species on Earth, they will eventually grow to be up to 10 feet long and up to 150 pounds.

In addition to their striking size, Komodo dragons can run up to 12 mph and have a powerful venomous bite. They're also endangered due to climate change and human-caused impacts like habitat loss and can only be found natively on the islands of Komodo National Park in Indonesia. • (ZooTampa) • (ZooTampa) • (ZooTampa) • (ZooTampa) • (ZooTampa) • (ZooTampa) • (ZooTampa) • (ZooTa
