It's safe to say most normal people I talk to still don't see a need for smart tech in their home. There are now app-powered dishwashers and fridges , and all the household appliances that suddenly want to talk to you—none of this is easy to recommend to the average person. In fact, there is only one piece of tech that I think everyone needs to be brought into the 21st century: the smart plug.
Nobody needs to spend hundreds of dollars on new smart appliances to replace their old, still perfectly good ones. Instead, you can get a few smart plugs for key outlets in your home to make them "smart." In essence, these plugs act as switches that allows you to control any appliance in your home via your phone. You can turn them on and off remotely, set routines, and even use voice command
