TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Shoshone Falls Grade has been closed due to water flowing higher than usual, according to a release by the City of Twin Falls .

The closure is below the intersection to Dierkes Lake Park, but the park will remain open.

Dierkes Lake’s water flow is unexpectedly high and is causing the pond at the bend in the road to overflow onto the pavement. The excess water is causing damage to the shoulder of the road, eroding part of the guardrail’s security.

Crews are creating a “ditch” over the road using plastic sheeting and sandbags, thus causing unsafe driving conditions.

The city reminds residents to pay attention to signs and follow all closure signs and respect barricades.
