The Columbia Public Works Department will hold an open house Thursday focused on a road safety audit of Business Loop 70 between Stadium Boulevard and Eastland Circle.

The meeting, which will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Boone County Electric Cooperative Community Building, 1413 Rangeline Street, marks the first time residents can give public input on the study.

The city of Columbia has partnered with the St. Louis-based traffic engineering company CBB Transportation Engineers and Planners to conduct the audit, according to the Public Works Department.

The road safety audit will pay close attention to collisions involving motorcyclists, school-age children, pedestrians and other vulnerable groups, according to the Public Works Department.
