Congressman Tim Burchett Urges Republicans to ‘Wake Up’ After High Democrat Turnout Leads to Nomination of ‘AOC of Tennessee’ in TN

U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) warned Republicans to "wake up" after the primary election for Tennessee's 7th Congressional District saw more than 30,000 voters turn out, resulting in the nomination of State Representative Aftyn Behn (D-Nashville), who has been described by Democrats as the "AOC of Tennessee." 

Burchett made the remarks in response to a post to X from SuperTalk 99.7 WTN host Matt Murphy, who noted that Behn will now face the Trump-endorsed Republican, Matt Van Epps, but also suggested the "bigger story" from the October 7 primary election was that the total number of votes by Democrats was comparable to the vote total for Republicans.
