HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (KWTX) – Jerry Wayne Baker on Oct. 9, 2025, was found not guilty of the charge of capital murder of multiple persons, according to online records.

A Bell County jury on Thursday deliberated two-and-a-half hours before finding Baker not guilty.

Defense attorney Brittany Lannen said her client was at a TGIF at the time of the murder and came home to find the crime scene.

Lannen told KWTX that investigators conducted a “surface level investigation.”

Baker, 36, of Temple, was indicted in 2020 in the shooting deaths of a woman and her adult son whose bodies were found in a home in Harker Heights.
