A Montgomery County 11-year-old girl was fatally struck by a school bus while she was biking home in Rockville, Maryland, the county police department said Thursday afternoon.

The student was leaving Earle B. Wood Middle School. At 3:12 p.m., Montgomery County police and firefighters responded to a report of a collision involving a cyclist and school bus, minutes after the school dismissed.
