INGHAM COUNTY, MI – A New York man will serve up to 20 years in Michigan prison for extorting children online to obtain sexually explicit images and videos, including from a 12-year-old in Ingham County.

Dominic Anthony Candelaria, 27, of Buffalo, New York, was sentenced on Wednesday, Oct. 8, to serve 84 to 240 months in the Michigan Department of Corrections after he was convicted in Ingham County’s 30th Circuit Court, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The New York man was arrested and extradited to Michigan after the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office identified him as a suspect in an online child exploitation investigation. One of his victims was a 12-year-old child in Ingham County, the sheriff’s office said.
