LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Earlier this month, Ronald Exantus was released from prison on a mandatory release program for certain offenders. In 2018, Exantus was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the stabbing death of six-year-old Logan Tipton in Versailles. He was convicted of assaulting Logan’s family during the attack and sentenced to 20 years in 2018.

Now, a state representative is looking into changing the law to prevent a release like this from happening again. House freshman TJ Roberts, R-Burlington, said he is working on two bills that he intends to file next year. They would focus on that mandatory release program and insanity pleas.
