6:15 UPDATE: The Minnesota Interagency Fire Center released information Thursday evening that the fire is now at an estimated 160 acres.

Firefighters have made progress containing the fire, which is now 25% contained.

A portion of the Superior Hiking Trail within George H. Crosby Manitou State Park will temporarily close at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, due to the fire.

The trail will be closed between the Caribou Falls State Wayside Rest to the Lake County Road 7 (Cramer Road) access points. The state park remains open.
