New York Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted on federal charges in Virginia following demands by President Donald Trump to prosecute her and his other political enemies, several media outlets are reporting.

James had been under investigation by federal authorities for alleged mortgage fraud in connection with a mortgage she obtained to help her niece to buy a home in Norfolk, Virginia. She was accused of improperly declaring it her primary residence to get a lower interest rate, although her attorneys reportedly called that a mistake and provided other documents in which she said it wasn't a primary home.
