ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) - It’s a parent’s worst nightmare, and it’s happening at alarming rates in Vermont. More child pornography is being made and watched in the state than ever before.
Thirty-two-year-old Caleb Devarney admitted in court this week to possessing child pornography. “I feel immense shame and guilt,” Devarney said.
Court records obtained by WCAX paint the picture of a man who lived at home with his mother and spent most of his time inside his bedroom playing games on his laptop. It’s also where investigators say the dark secrets of his sex crimes came to light.
Devarney contacted mothers on the dating app Meet Me and offered them money to abuse their 5- and 6-year-old daughters and to record the abuse and send it to him. An app administrator discovered the correspondence.
