The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man hit by a train while lying on the tracks in Kent but ruled his cause and manner of death as “pending.”

Daniel Adam Gomez-Perez, 44, died on the railroad tracks Oct. 7 near East Willis Street and First Avenue South , according to the Oct. 9 report by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Cases that have cause and manner of death listed as “pending” will be added to the list again when cause and manner of death are determined, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office website.

Kent Police reported in an Oct. 8 email to the Kent Reporter that a 44-year-old Kent man was lying on the tracks when a BNSF Railway freight train struck him at about 11:57 a.m.
