Kent Police arrested a man for a DUI and domestic assault warrants out of Benton County in Central Washington after an officer spotted multiple adults hanging out at a downtown bus shelter along West Meeker Street.

At about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, an officer on routine patrols downtown noticed multiple adults in a King County Metro bus shelter, according to an Oct. 9 Kent Police Facebook post. The officer saw them littering and noticed many items that suggested the men had been camping out in the shelter.

The officer observed that the men did not board any of the many buses that were stopping to collect passengers, according to police. The officer knew this particular stop is used by local school children to travel to their schools.

The officer called for backup and several officers
