The last few winters have gone from one extreme to the next. Marco Tafalla, the owner of Avalanche Snow and Lawn, has been in the business since 2013 and is getting his crews ready for whatever comes. If this season is anything like last season and doesn’t bring much snow, Avalanche Snow and Lawn have other ways of keeping busy. “We did focus a lot of our business on ice management and applying gravel and ice melt for the slippery conditions that we had,” said Tafalla. While last year wasn’t great, it wasn’t the worst his company has faced. “I believe in 2014 and 2015, we had back-to-back warm winters where I believe we plowed once or twice,” Tafalla explained.
