OTTUMWA, Iowa -- An 18-year-old from Ottumwa was arrested after police say he stole a car and put it in the ditch earlier this week.

According to the Wapello County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle was discovered Monday in a ditch near River Road and 220th Avenue, just outside Ottumwa. During their investigation, WCSO deputies found that the Nissan Frontier had not been reported stolen and that the owner was unaware of the theft.

Following the investigation, the WCSO arrested 18-year-old Brayden Michael Freddy Morrow on Tuesday. Morrow is charged with Theft 2nd Degree and Driving While Suspended.

According to court records, when police identified Morrow he had the keys to the vehicle in his possession and later admitted to stealing the vehicle during a post Miranda interview.
