WEBB CITY, Mo. — A flock of Canadian geese flew past the Webb City High School softball field on Thursday evening moments before Liz Rhuems hit a walk-off solo home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning, which led to the Cardinals flocking to home plate to celebrate Rhuems’ blast and an 8-7 win over Central Ozark Conference rival Neosho High School.
“I was just trying to get a base hit. Do something small and get on (base). Definitely accepting that one,” Rhuems said. ×
