MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man thought he was taking a car for a test ride, but ended up being robbed at gunpoint near Downtown Memphis on Wednesday.
Just before 6 p.m., officers responded to a robbery in the parking lot of the new Chick-fil-A on Uptown Street off Danny Thomas Boulevard.
The victim told police they met the suspect at the location to purchase a black 2015 Infiniti Q50, he found on Facebook Marketplace.
According to reports, the victim test drove the vehicle and wanted to buy it.
When the victim pulled out cash to pay the suspect, the suspect pulled out a handgun and told the victim, "Give it here and get out of the car."
Police said the suspect fled the scene. Police said the suspect got away with a large amount of cash.
