MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Highland Heights area Thursday evening.

Police say a man was found dead from gunshot injuries in the 700 block of Lester Street, located just north of Summer Avenue. Officers responded to the shooting call at 5:44 p.m.

Officers have two people detained at this time. Police say that preliminary information indicates that the victim knew them.
