DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A large iguana was thrown in the back of a patrol car in a strange encounter with Daytona Beach officers, according to the police department.

The department released body-worn camera footage showing the incident, which happened on Monday morning.

“Our officers responded quickly to help safely capture an unexpected visitor, an iguana found roaming around Daytona Beach,” a release from the department reads .

In the video, one of the responding officers can be seen hesitantly approaching the iguana as the other encourages her.

However, the iguana is shown scrambling away before she can get her hands on it.
