Karwa Chauth, the Hindu festival symbolizing love and devotion, is mainly celebrated in Northern India. It is observed annually on Krishna Chaturthi in the Hindu month of Kartik. This year, Karwa Chauth will fall on Friday, October 10, 2025.

On this festival, married women observe a fast from sunrise to moonrise and pray for the health and long life of their husbands. They wait until the moon is sighted at night and break their fast by drinking water from their partners’ hands.

According to Drik Panchang, the Krishna Paksha Chaturthi Tithi begins at 10:54 PM on October 9 and ends at 7:38 PM on October 10. The most auspicious time to perform the Karwa Chauth Puja is during Pradosh Kaal. This year, the evening rituals are traditionally observed between 5:57 PM and 7:11 PM.
