STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WHTM) -- The Nittany Lions opened their season with a road sweep, but they couldn't keep the momentum going in their own barn.

No. 4 Penn State looked to dominate out-of-conference matchup Clarkson for its home opener Thursday at Pengula Ice Arena. Instead, the team blew a two-goal lead to lose 6-4.

The Knights opened scoring 1:07 into the first period with a Talon Sigurdson goal assisted by Luka Sukovic and a secondary assist for Tristan Sarsland.

However, it didn't take long for the Nittany Lions to respond -- that came in the form of a JJ Wiebusch powerplay goal at 4:25 fed by Gavin McKenna and Aiden Fink getting a secondary assist.
