JASPER, Texas (KTRE) - The Southeast Texas Food Bank has partnered with Jasper ISD to meet students’ needs through Food Lockers.

“This is designed for every student with needs to make sure they don’t go without,” said Irma Dahlquist, the coordinator for the Hunger Free Coalition and facility manager at the SETFB.

The program was initiated two years ago; however, it didn’t make it to schools until the last semester of the 2024-25 school year.

But before the program started, Patrina Wade, the site coordinator for Community in Schools at Jasper High School, helped students with the supplies like hygiene products and school supplies. She’s a confidant with many JHS students.

“The students that are seniors now were my first kids”, Wade said.
