A man was shot and killed Thursday night on Capitol Hill, according to Seattle police, and another person was injured.
The man was shot repeatedly near East Pike Street and Broadway around 8 p.m. outside the Chipotle on Broadway. No suspect is in custody, said Detective Eric Muñoz. Police were asking residents to avoid the area.
The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he died in the operating room.
A second person, described by Muñoz as a bystander, was shot in the leg. That person was in serious condition.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation, according to the Seattle Police Department. “There’s a lot of witnesses,” Muñoz said.
