If there were ever an important time to turn your pockets inside out or empty your handbag, it’s now.

One West Australian has a Lotto ticket worth $25 million and they may not even be aware of their life-changing fortune.

The Powerball ticket from Thursday night’s draw is one of two to share in the $50 million jackpot, which remains unclaimed. The other winner is from the Northern Territory.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Zoe Wender urged West Australians to check their numbers, saying there was a possibility the $25m piece of paper could be within plain sight.

“We usually see players come forward within the first couple of days, so it’s very possible we could hear from the winner even this afternoon or over the weekend,” she said.
