PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A larger police presence has rapidly changed the dynamics near the ICE facility, shrinking the crowd and stopping some of the conflict.
“I think it has affected the protests here, and if it took the Portland Police to do that, that’s a good thing,” said protestor William Glen.
“Last night wasn’t that rowdy, it was pretty calm, so I think they’re definitely doing something better, their increased presence is helping out a lot,” said counter-protestor Horace.
FOX 12 spoke with Chief Bob Day on Thursday about the changes, and he confirmed that more patrolling officers are in the area.
