The Assam police on Friday arrested two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of the late singer Zubeen Garg in connection with his death. Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, who had been assigned as Garg’s PSOs for a long time, were taken into custody and are being produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Guwahati. Both had been suspended earlier this week after financial irregularities came to light.
The PSOs reportedly recorded transactions worth over Rs 1 crore over the last four to five years, with Bora’s account showing Rs 70 lakh and Baishya’s Rs 40 lakh. Sources said that Zubeen Garg had used both their bank accounts to save money he intended to distribute among the poor and needy. Investigations into these transactions are now underway as part of the ongoing probe.
