A young driver who was trying to make a good impression saw events turn sour after police spotted him.

Greater Manchester Police stopped a flashy Audi RS3 from a drive-thru restaurant in Salford on Wednesday night (October 8).

The snazzy black car was being driven by a young man who had taken a woman out on a date.

But the car wasn't his - and police soon became suspicious.

The driver's was insured for his usual Toyota Yaris, but not the Audi he was seen using for his date.

Officers discovered that the Audi was actually his dad's car - and he was not insured to use it.

So while he may have had high hopes for a romantic night with his date, the evening was dramatically cut short with police seizing his dad
