A West Lothian couple who met in their 20s at the dancing have celebrated their diamond anniversary after 60 years together.
Thomas and Doria Weir first locked eyes at the Pallais in Bathgate after Doria had moved to Scotland from her home in Barga, Tuscany, in 1956 at the age of 20 and they have been together ever since.
Doria had travelled to Scotland to work in Serafini's cafe/chip shop on George Street while Thomas worked for British Leyland.
Thomas moved from Fauldhouse to Bathgate to be with his wife with their first home after marriage located on Academy Street. They were married in St Mary’s in Bathgate and still stay in the town.
Thomas was a long-standing member of the West Calder Brass Band. They have three children together; Nadia, Brenda and Mark and three grandchildren;
